Go Green! You can make 4 reusable make-up remover pads from each charm square. The skin around my eyes is so sensitive that sometimes even a soft disposable or "regular" cotton square feels like sandpaper! I paired a charm square with a scrap of Minky fabric for extra softness. I bet flannel would be soft too.
I cut 4 squares from a charm square from the Neptune line by Tula Pink for Moda. Then I cut matching 2 1/2 inch squares of Minky. I sewed the squares right sides together on 3 sides, turned right sides out and top stitched all the way around.
This project took only a few minutes and you could whip up a whole weeks worth without spending a lot of time. Wouldn't a little stack of these with a matching make-up case make a fun gift?
After use, simply throw them in with your next load of laundry. I definitely would put the squares in a mesh bag to launder, otherwise they might get lost in your dryers black hole! I know my dryer can't be the only one that "eats" things.

What's a charm square?
Sara, a charm square is a 5 x 5 inch pre-cut square from the manufacturer. You buy these in bundles that include one square for each fabric print in a fabric line. They are so versatile and it is a fun and economical way to get a lot of different prints.

So brilliant! I just saw this on the Craftzine blog and had to come by. I'm going to give these a try with some flannel since I have that on hand.
My first thought was gross, but then I was like, wait, that's not really gross... LOL And then I told my coworker about them and she said, "sick" but then she thought about it too and thought it's a good idea.
I don't know why it sounds yucky at first. I use cotton squares every day. I may just try this.
Love it! I am totally going to make some out of flannel I have laying around.
I already use cloth diapers and wipies, cloth napkins and rags so this makes perfect sense!
This is such a great idea! I am a dancer, and I've always been dismayed at how much waste goes into prepping for a performance. These could cut down my cotton ball usage completely!
I just finished a flannel raw edge quilt. so I'm going to try this with the left over flannel and a little piece of warm and natural batting in the middle. I also just wanted to say you could wash these by hand with a bar of Ivory soap and it will remove the grease that is in some make-up and in the oily removers. Also if you want to go one step "greener" use olive oil or almond oil to remove your make-up instead of petroleum based make-up removers.
This is a pretty neat idea. I think I'll try it.
One thing I might change, though, is adding a little loop of ribbon or something in the corners. I don't have a dryer and a loop of some kind would make these easier to put on the clothes line.
By the way, what's minky cloth? All the google results I found seemed to point to ordinary cleaning cloths sold by the company, Minky.
